Beijing is once again making its intentions crystal clear. The Chinese Foreign Ministry has bluntly declared that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China and that nothing and no one can stop its eventual reunification with the mainland.
This is the same aggressive script the Chinese Communist Party has pushed for decades: Taiwan is not a free democracy with its own government, military, and vibrant economy, but a rogue province that must be brought to heel. Xi Jinping’s regime shows no interest in peaceful coexistence. Their version of “reunification” increasingly points toward coercion, blockade, or outright invasion.
While the Biden-Harris era projected weakness and invited adventurism, this latest statement is a reminder that America must stand firm. Taiwan is a critical partner, a semiconductor powerhouse, and a frontline against authoritarian expansion in the Indo-Pacific. Bolstering deterrence, arming allies, and rejecting appeasement is the only language Beijing respects.
The free world should take note: empty diplomatic words won’t stop a determined dictator. Strength and resolve will.
