Abbas Araghchi arrived in Pakistan on Friday ahead of a second round of peace talks with the United States aimed at easing regional tensions.
Iran’s foreign ministry said any negotiations with Washington would be conducted indirectly, with messages relayed through Pakistani officials. Araghchi met late Friday with Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and army chief Asim Munir, and held further talks on Saturday with Munir and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, officials said.
US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are due to head to Pakistan on Saturday, while Vice President JD Vance will remain on standby, the White House said.
