Russia’s Ryazan Oil Refinery (owned by Rosneft), one of the country’s five largest refineries with an annual capacity of 17.1 million tons, is on fire after a Ukrainian drone strike.
The facility produces gasoline (A-92 to A-100), diesel, jet fuel — including around 840,000 tons of TS-1 aviation kerosene per year used by both civilian and Russian military aircraft.
During the attack, explosions and Russian air defense activity were reported, with Pantsir systems activated. Some interceptor missiles or debris struck nearby residential buildings, causing damage and civilian casualties.
The incident highlights the growing reach of Ukrainian long-range drones against critical Russian energy infrastructure and the risks to civilians when air defenses engage over populated areas.
