TED CRUZ EXPOSES CHINA’S COORDINATED IP THEFT CAMPAIGN — $400 TO $600 BILLION STOLEN FROM AMERICA EVERY YEAR

Sen. Ted Cruz hammered the scale of China’s intellectual property theft during a Senate hearing.

“Last month a Chinese telecommunications agency Highterra was fined 50 million dollars in federal court for stealing American technology,” Cruz stated. “In January of this year a Google engineer was convicted of stealing artificial intelligence secrets for the Chinese government.”

He continued: “This is not pattern isolated incidents. This is a coordinated campaign directed by the Chinese Communist Party to steal its way to global dominance.”

Cruz cited the staggering annual cost: “The American economy loses between 400 billion and 600 billion each and every year due to China intellectual property theft.”

He pressed the expert witness: “Is it correct that the Chinese Communist government is widely regarded as the world’s most aggressive thief of intellectual property stealing and copying everything from sneaker designs to plans for military aircraft?”

A graphic shown during the hearing labeled it clearly: “Largest Transfer of Wealth in Human History” — $15 trillion and counting, with $600 billion stolen per year.
