Israel announces a major escalation against Hezbollah, launching a new wave of strikes across Lebanon despite a recently extended 45-day ceasefire agreement.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel would intensify military operations against Hezbollah, while the Israel Defense Forces confirmed that a new phase of attacks has already begun across multiple areas of Lebanon.
According to the IDF, strikes targeted Hezbollah positions in Lebanon’s eastern Bekaa Valley as well as other locations nationwide.
The escalation came after Netanyahu stated that “Israel is at war with Hezbollah,” adding that he had ordered the military to carry out heavy strikes against the group.
The latest developments are raising fears that the conflict could rapidly expand into a broader regional war.
