TRUMP: MACRON DID A GREAT JOB HOSTING THE G7 — HONORED ME WITH FANTASTIC DINNER AT VERSAILLES
President Trump praised French President Emmanuel Macron’s handling of the G7 summit in a new Axios interview.
“Macron did a great job of hosting the G7. Really good. No games,” Trump said.
He described how Macron personally reached out with a direct invitation.
“He invited me about a week before. He said, ‘Would you do me a favor? Would you come to Paris? We’d like to honor you.’
I viewed it as honoring the nation. But he said, ‘I’d like to honor you.’”
Trump noted the high-level guest list and the rare venue.
“And he had some of the biggest people in Europe there and beyond. We were at Versailles, and I was sort of not going to do it, but he knew my weakness.
They don’t do dinners at Versailles.
And we had a fantastic dinner.”
