TRUMP TREASURY DELIVERS CHECKMATE: IRAN’S BOMBING BLUNDER HANDS OVER THEIR BANK ACCOUNTS FOR FREEZING

Iran thought lobbing missiles and drones at its Gulf neighbors was a smart move. Big mistake.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent just laid it out: Those attacks have backfired spectacularly, pushing Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, and others to open up and get transparent about Iranian regime money sitting in their banks.

“What may prove to be fatal mistakes the Iranians made was bombing their neighbors,” Bessent said. “Who are now willing to be much more transparent in terms of the funds, or do a deeper dive in investigating the funds that are held within their banking systems.”

The result? The U.S. is hitting them where it hurts most— their wallets. Treasury is pushing hard to freeze more assets tied to the IRGC leadership and top Iranian regime figures.

Bessent didn’t stop there. “The other thing that we have done is we have told companies, we have told countries that if you are buying Iranian oil, that if Iranian money is sitting in your banks, we are now willing to apply secondary sanctions, which is a very stern measure.”

He called it straight: “The Iranians should know that this is going to be the financial equivalent of what we saw in the kinetic activities.”

This is maximum pressure done right—smart, relentless, and lethal to the mullahs’ cash flow. While Biden-era weakness let Iran fund terror unchecked, the Trump team is treating the regime like the financial pariah it is. Economic assassin Bessent is locking down the money, starving the beast, and showing the world what real leverage looks like.

Iran’s neighbors just handed us the keys. Game over for the ayatollahs’ war chest.
